Where else in the world can one fish salmon, halibut, fly fish mountian streams and lake fish all in a week end.
Not to mention cliams, crabs and oyters.
Last summer my son came out to visit. I set up a Neah bay halbut trip on Saturday am, at 2:00 we set out crab pots in Quilcene Bay, by 4:00 we were fishing a local lake.
Next morning we pulled our crab pots stopped on the way home and dug claims and picked oysters.
At 3:00 pm Sunday we eat, Halibut, Sea Bass, Salmon, Trout, cliams and oysters. Most of the Family showed up for that feed.
My favorite time of year is when the Big Quilcene river over flows with silver salmon.
Now that I have learned how to catch them legaly, hook in the mouth, I manage to fill atleast one catch record card a year.
We are one of the few places in the state that has a four fish aday limit. What is the wieght of the largest silver salmon cought and reported on sports gear out of the Big Quil?:lol:
