Your letter in support of the rebuilding of the Dosewallips River Road: Note: We have included a template letter, below - you may edit or change anything you feel would better express your support of rebuilding the Dosewallips River Road. We will format the address lines, and you signature line, after you enter the body of the letter. The following is JUST the BODY of the letter. The purpose of this letter is to register my support for any decision to build a bypass around a section of the Dosewallips River Road washed out in January of 2002. The Dosewallips River Road has been in existence for over 70 years and has provided access to a national public facility, the campgrounds and trails of the Olympic National Park. Prior to its washout, the annual number of vehicles utilizing this road for access to the park varied from 27,000 to 55,000. These visitors and their support of local businesses are an important part of south-county economy. This economy has struggled for many years to replace logging and fisheries related industries. The repair of the Dosewallips River Road is a critical element in south Jefferson County's economy. With this in mind, I wish to register my support for your effort to re-establish eastern access to the Park, by reconstructing the Dosewallips Road. Jefferson County's residents and its visitors need access to the park and the trailheads to be restored as soon as possible.
